Q2: According to the site Golam Azam’s stand
about the liberation war was correct. Does it mean that the liberation war
was wrong?
Ans. The liberation war was the result of the spirit of the whole nation. There was noting wrong in it. Golam Azam’s stand was that the nation could not get the true independence under the leadership of Awami League. The country could not also prosper under Awami League which basically represented the most opportunist class. |

Sheik Mujib could be at fault. But what Rassel and others did?
Ans: Any death is regrettable. Even then one has to accept deaths. Sheik Mujib and some of his family members including Rassel got killed in the armed encounter during the uprising. Some soldiers had to accept martyrdom as well. |

Ans. There is nothing to prove this claim. |

Ans. The spirit of ’75 was the same as that of ’71. Ideals were to establish a truly independent, happy and prosperous Bangladesh. |

The trial of ‘Killing Sheik Mujibur Rahman’ is legal or illegal?
Ans. The uprisings of 15th August and 7th November got their moral legitimacy through spontaneous popular support of the people. Later through the 5th amendment, which was adopted in the elected parliament with more than two third majorities, both the uprisings got the constitutional legitimacy. Awami League government after coming to power has initiated the trial violating the constitutional indemnity. For this violation they would remain answerable to the nation. |

the ideology of 15th August revolution was correct then why it could not
last?
Ans. Revolution is a process. In this process there are success and failure, advance and retreat. Covering this ups and downs the spirit of ’75 still flowing strongly in the national politics. |

Party’?
Ans. All of them did not have the same opportunity or scope to join active politics. Circumstances were also not congenial for some. |

Ans. In 1996 election Freedom Party participated as one. Therefore, it would not be correct to say that the party is divided. |

Why Gen. Shafiullah got only retirement?
Ans. August uprising was not against any individual. It was organized to bring a political change. Gen. Shafiullah failed completely to up hold the interest of the army. He was more busy in pleasing Sheik Mujib for his favor that was done to him. That is why he was removed and Gen. Ziaur Rahman was made the Chief of Army Staff as per the decision of ‘Sena Parisad’. |

Why all those who were involved in the uprising should not be called law
breakers?
Ans. The main tasks of the Defense Forces is to protect the country and the nation from the enemy. The enemy could be both external or internal. Besides, if the army uprising of ’71 which gave birth to liberation war is considered legitimate then why the uprising should not the considered legitimate? Both were against the oppressive regimes and equally received popular support. |

Ans. The nationalist spirit that had united the patriotic freedom fighters against the failed Awami League provisional government and ‘The Indian grand design’ had also inspired to organized the Sena Parisad to face the challenges of the time. It was organized not to create chaos but to bring back rule of law in the army and the country. The rule of law got crushed under the steam roller of AWAMI-BKSAL rule. |

Ans. A political party can not have any relation with a state. However, the party can maintain relation with like minded parties of other countries. Bangladesh and Libya are two brotherly countries of the Muslim world hence the Freedom Party believes in strengthening the existing relation. |

political change of ’75. What is the relation between the revolution and
those countries? Did the revolutionaries want to establish communism?
Ans. Both those countries recognized Bangladesh in light of their own reasoning. However, the commitment of the uprising to bring Bangladesh out of Indo-Soviet axis influenced their decisions. As far as communism is concerned, the Sena Parisad believed that all problems of this created world would only be solved by following the laws of the creator. |

country after 1996 election?
Ans. Under a repressive government the people can hardly express their feelings. However, it is not true that the leaders ran away. Some leaders had traveled abroad on personal business. Those who had been living abroad did not get a chance to return an others who were in the country got arrested. |
